Six suspects on Tuesday escaped police custody after finding their way out through the roof of Kayole Police Station.
According to sources, five of the escapees were charged with robbery with violence while one is in custody for defilement.
It is still not yet clear how the capital offenses suspects managed to climb their way through the roof of one of the most modern police cells in the country.
The incident happens barely a month after 11 robbery suspects escaped a Bungoma police station by digging a hole through the wall.
The group escaped after digging an underground tunnel in the middle of the night.
Another suspect – Isaac Wekesa – was arrested after being shot in the thigh as he tried to escape.
Last year, police thwarted a similar escape attempt.
