Award winning Kenyan sensation, Nikita Kering, will be the main artist on TRACE LIVE, a premium, unique, intimate and interactive showcase of Kenyan music Thursday evening.
This will be the last virtual concert and will premiere online through the Trace YouTube channel and at 8:00 pm.
“Nikita is a rising star and we are glad to be part of her journey even as we continue to support the Kenyan music scene through our platforms,” said Danny Mucira, MD Trace Eastern Cluster.
He added that Trace will continue to play its part as an enabler to the entertainment economy in Kenya.
The 19-year-old Kering is a Performing Artist, Actress, Brand Influencer, and former Radio and TV host.
She rose into the limelight after her song about violence in romantic relationships; ‘Tragedy’ hit the airwaves.
She launched her music career in 2007 and was mentored by gospel artist, Emmy Kosgei. The songstress is now one of the most talented artists in the country and is a globally recognized rising star.
Her latest work is an EP titled, ‘A Side of Me’.
Powered by Safaricom, this edition of Trace Live will be one of the last in their virtual concert series that kept the music going during the pandemic lockdown in 2020.
Trace live featured artists like King Kaka, Naiboi, Khaligraph, Hart the band, Fena Gitu, Femi one, Jua Kali, Ochunglo family, Sailors and Kansoul amongst other artists in the secular editions. Mercy Masika, Eunice Njeri and Evelyne Wanjiru were featured in the Gospel edition.
In a well-received twist, Trace went on to host 3 vernacular shows featuring the likes of Dholuo music sensation Prince Inda, Kikuyu artiste Samidoh and Kamba music mogul Ken Wa Maria.
“We chose to be inclusive to all genres in the Kenyan music industry through the uncertain times experienced in the Covid-19 pandemic and we did it for the culture,” Danny Mucira said reiterating that Trace remains keen to empower and celebrate Kenyan artists by appreciating their creative work as well as being the ultimate platform of entertainment for all Kenyans.
Launched in 2003 and originating from an iconic magazine, Trace has grown into an Afro Urban cultural entertainment force with 300 million fans and a mission to empower and uplift young people globally.
