One tuk-tuk driver and a protester were on Wednesday morning allegedly shot dead by police in Kahawa West protests where residents were demonstrating over demolitions of their kiosks.
Residents say Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS) police started destroying their business kiosks at around 3am in the morning prompting them to react.
They say there was no prior notice ahead of the demolitions.
The protests continued to escalate even further in the early hours of the morning with residents demanding justice after accusing police of killing an unarmed people.
Business and transport have since been disrupted as General Service Unit (GSU) officers join police to calm down the situation.
Plain-clothes police have also joined hand with tear-gas and other crowd-control munitions littering the air.
