The grassroots elections of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party began in various counties amidst confusion, largely due to voter identification issues in some areas and delays in others.
In Nairobi, a notable number of voters were unable to cast their votes as only a few were successfully identified by the biometric gadgets.
Among those declined were Governor Johnson Sakaja and Dagoretti South Member of Parliament John Kiarie.
Sakaja encountered an unexpected hurdle when his name was found to be missing from the party’s registry. Furthermore, delays were reported in several locations due to the theft of voting equipment.
