The Kenya Meteorological Department has issued a five-day forecast covering April 13 to April 17, indicating continued heavy rainfall in various parts of the country.
According to the forecast, isolated heavy rainfall events are expected in several regions, including the highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, the Rift Valley, the South-eastern lowlands, the Coast, and North-eastern Kenya.
From Saturday to Wednesday, the highlands East of the Rift Valley, including counties like Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka, and Nairobi, will experience rains in the morning, followed by showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon, and showers at night. Temperatures are expected to range from a maximum average of 29 degrees Celsius to a minimum average of 12 degrees Celsius during this period.
Similarly, the Highlands West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, and the Rift Valley, covering counties such as Siaya, Kisumu, Homabay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet, Nandi, Nakuru, Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia, and West Pokot, will also experience rainfall, showers, and thunderstorms during the same period.
