Jane Waigwe Kimani, the wife of former Murang’a Governor Mwangi wa Iria, and her brother Solomon Mutura Kimani, have been apprehended regarding an alleged corruption case involving Ksh. 140 million in Murang’a County.
The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) took action by arresting the two individuals on Wednesday. They were then escorted to the Milimani Anti-Corruption Court to face arraignment. Eric Ngumbi, the spokesperson for the EACC, confirmed the arrests, revealing that both Jane Waigwe Kimani and Solomon Mutura Kimani are directors of Value View Ltd, a company allegedly implicated in the fraudulent activities.
While these two suspects were taken into custody, the EACC continues its efforts to apprehend six other individuals involved in the case.
Among them is the former governor, who reportedly failed to comply with summons to appear before the commission on Wednesday morning.
