Police in Nakuru are holding a 22-year-old woman on suspicion of stabbing her husband following a domestic squabble.
Police said the suspect who was apprehended Thursday evening stabbed her husband in a fit of rage after he allegedly slapped her.
The altercation reportedly began when the husband returned to their rented apartment and demanded food.
“She alleges that while in the process of cooking for him, they had a disagreement and the husband assaulting her by slapping. In turn, she took a kitchen knife and stabbed him on the left side of the chest,” the National Police Service said.
The husband was rushed by neighbors to Keringet Sub-County Hospital from where he was referred to Olenguruone Hospital for further treatment while in critical condition.
The NPS advised the public to report all domestic and Gender-Based Violence incidents to authorities for appropriate legal action.
