Stories of young people facing difficulties while working or studying abroad have been in the news recently.
These horror stories have left parents a very worried lot, especially when it comes to letting their children travel.
Speaking on the sidelines of the ongoing East African Roadshow head of Regional Director – Africa; for The Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) Stella Fubara reassured parents of the safety of their children.
“Dubai is a global society, if you choose to study there you will be in class with students from all over the world and its one of the safest places on earth,” she said. I have actually brought up my own kids here and I am so proud of how all rounded they have become, it’s the safest place to bring up children.”
Expounding on the Educational tourism opportunities available in Dubai, she revealed that international universities are actually cheaper in Dubai than they are in their home country.
She also revealed that after studying in Dubai for two years you can get a chance to transfer to the home country of the University.
Additionally the universities in Dubai will help with their students secure their student visa’s, and upon graduation exceptional students get assistance with resident visa’s to stay on and get jobs in Dubai.
“There is a misconception that African youth are the only ones who travel in search of better opportunities. However the reality is that all young people all over the world like to leave their home country to do something different.”
The roadshow highlights Dubai’s affordable experiences and the diversity of the city’s offerings to key travel partners in the visited cities.
Highlights of the roadshow, span across travel, hospitality, entertainment and Dubai’s citywide events, with a focus on leisure, family travel, education and medical tourism.
Key elements of the event will include breakout network sessions, partner presentations, one-on-one meetings, and medical facility updates.
