Jamaican reggae singer Etana landed in Kenya on Wednesday ahead of her concert dubbed ‘Pamoja Festival’ meant to promote her new album featuring three Kenyan artistes.
Having found a strong fan base in Kenya, the Kingston-born singer, real name Shauna McKenzie, has become a local favourite since 2012 and has been in and out of the country for a number of successful shows.
The Saturday show scheduled to be held at the Waterfront, Ngong Racecourse, Nairobi will be her first show since the Covid-19 pandemic.
Sponsored by The Kulture alongside Vybez Radio and Boomplay Music, the superstar Etana will be performing live alongside local artists; Wyre, Naiboi, DJ Kang Kang, Graviti Band, DJ Vybrant, VJ Chacha, DJ Moh, Kris Darling, DJ Double Trouble among others.

The Swahili flavored Pamoja album features Naiboi, Wyre and Michael Bundi. Other African collaborations include Nandy from Tanzania, Wezi from Zambia and Ghana’s Stonebwoy.
Others featured are Jamaican dancehall king Vybz Kartel and Yahsha.
Pamoja has been nominated for the 64th Grammys for best reggae album.
The project also features her cover version of Fadhili Williams’s classic song ‘Malaika’ that has since seen renditions by legends like Mariam Makeba turn it into an international hit.
