Timothy Owase, Chief Executive Officer Kenya Film Commission while officiating the event commended Canon for their innovations that were responsive to the needs of film producers and broadcasters.
“The Government has already made several strides in elevating the film sector in this country. It is therefore very encouraging to see organizations such as Canon supporting growth of the sector with significant investments that will further propel the professionals in the creative industry to be able to compete competitively on a global scale with the right technology. Kenyans now demand quality content, and it is imperative that our film producers upgrade their equipment and techniques to meet this ever-growing audience demand. I thank the Canon team for being responsive to develop technology that guarantees quality to the consumer of film products,” he said.
The new XF-series professional camcorder comes equipped with a 1.0-inch CMOS sensor and the ability to record 4K/60p/4:2:2/10-bit/HDR video to dual on-board SD card slots.
Equipped with Canon’s Dual Pixel CMOS AF, with focus area of approximately 80% (vertically) x 80% (horizontally), the XF605 achieves high-speed and high-accuracy focusing, and is the first XF-series model to include Eye Detection AF, as well as improved face and head detection, enabling more accurate and stable tracking of subjects.
