Gov’t releases list of all permitted alcohol manufacturers in Kenya

The Ministry of Interior has released a list of regional businesses that have been authorized to produce alcoholic beverages, following the guidelines set by the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS).

This announcement comes amidst the government’s efforts to crack down on illicit breweries and drug dealers by implementing new regulations.

Interior Cabinet Secretary, Kithure Kindiki, declared last week that licenses for all second-generation alcohol producers would be suspended as part of these measures.

The move aims to tighten control over the production and distribution of alcoholic beverages to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards set by KEBS.

 As per the Interior Ministry’s list that was made public on Thursday, the statutory body has granted valid standardization permits to 55 companies. Among them are
